This notice describes the information used to run ProphNova's free forecasting platform.

Information we store

We store your email, username, display name, password hash, profile choices, optional biography and avatar, forecasts, confidence selections, scores, achievements, and account activity. Passwords are stored as secure hashes. Verification and password-reset tokens are stored as hashes and expire. For sign-in abuse prevention, the service stores a keyed hash of your IP address rather than the raw address in its login-attempt record.

How it is used

Information is used to operate accounts, verify email, deliver password resets, display public profiles and leaderboards according to your visibility setting, lock and resolve forecasts, calculate scores, prevent abuse, and maintain audit history. Essential session cookies keep you signed in and protect forms. This V1 does not include advertising trackers or third-party analytics.

What is public

When your profile is public, your display name, username, biography, avatar, aggregate record, achievements, and leaderboard presence may be visible. Private profiles are hidden from public profile pages and shown as “Private predictor” on leaderboards. Your email address, password hash, raw login details, and private moderation data are not displayed publicly.

Service providers and retention

The hosting provider stores the site and its database. The email transport configured by the operator receives the recipient address and message content needed to deliver account emails. We retain account and forecast history while needed to operate the service, enforce integrity, and meet legal obligations. You may contact the operator to request access, correction, or account removal; some public competition and audit records may need to be retained or anonymised to preserve the integrity of published results.
