Will Brisbane have a public driverless robotaxi service by the end of 2028?
Will members of the public be able to book and pay for a driverless robotaxi ride on Brisbane public roads by 31 December 2028?
This tests whether autonomous driving moves from trials into a real passenger service in Brisbane.
How the result is decided
YES only if an operator publicly launches a paid service open to ordinary passengers in the Greater Brisbane area by 31 December 2028 (UTC), and the vehicle completes the booked trip on public roads without a human driver or safety operator aboard. A demonstration, private trial, or service with an onboard safety driver does not count. Resolve using an operator launch notice and relevant Queensland Government automated-vehicle/public-transport information.
